Ramesh's Indian Potato Curry:
12 potatoes (white ones)
3-5 Tbsp Veggie Oil
3-5 Tbsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper (add more if you like life a little spicy!)
1 heaping tsp of curry powder
2 Tbsp salt
Directions:
1. Boil potatoes until they are still a little hard to put a fork in, but soft enough to eat.
2. Strain and peel them, then cut them into 4 or 8 pieces depending on the size of the potato.
3. Put the oil in the pot and heat for 2 minutes. Then put all the mustard seeds in until they begin popping like popcorn.
4. Once the popping sounds have diminished a bit, put in all the potatoes and mix them with the oil and mustard seeds.
5. Put in all the spices and stir everything together. Put the lid on the pot and let everything sit on medium heat for at least 7 minutes. Stir every 7-10 minutes for 30 minutes to allow the flavour to be absorbed.
6. You may need to add more salt to taste, if not, it's ready to eat! Bon apetit!
I brought this to a Toastmaster's meeting tonight and I think I may have put a little too much cayenne pepper in it. I like it spicy so it didn't bother me at all
Tonight I met Cosmo the Cat. I went to a going away party for a friend and heard a loud meow followed by what would be an endless stream of meows for the rest of the evening as he smelled our bbq food. Below the deck that precariously juts out from a rock wall, was a cute little orange and white-pawed kitty. He's probably only 6 months old, and what a cutie! He followed my friend Ramesh around and I convinced Ramesh that the cat needed a temporary home until his potential owners found him. If no one claims him, then the cat becomes Cosmo (Kramer) the Cat. He travels well (I brought him home in the car) and is very cuddly and playful. I'll post pictures when I get them downloaded. Coincidence that Ramesh wanted a cat and one arrived? I think not...the cat is definitely a Cosmo cat.
calm blue oceans...it's just a ride
work sucks.
paychecks are great though.
it's for the latter that i continue to go into work.
why are people so anal about other people's work? one person in particular gave me a task to do, when related plans had been put on hold i put this task on hold. despite numerous explanations on why it was on hold and how everything that could be done was done and all i could do was wait for the finalized plans to move forward, i was told to go forward without the necessary plans. this person wants to have a meeting to discuss meetings and the need for a future meeting. i am not fond of the word meeting right now.
but i had a laura secord chocolate mint ice cream in a chocolate sugar cone and i feel better. this will be followed by beer. which will make me feel MUCH better
I sort of played baseball today. I have realized that I am in fact the stereotypical girl and that yes, I throw like one. I play catcher and I feel bad for our pitcher because I can never throw the ball straight and I always send it off far to the right/left of her... I think she wants to beat me up lol
When I got home I decided to go for my first run of the year...oh I'm gonna hurt tomorrow. I finally went out and explored the wonders of my neighbourhood which are sort of wonders...well there's a park. and an abandoned school if those can be considered wonders. Lots of pretty houses too...expensive pretty cookie cutter houses.
Ok, I'm feeling tired, and I am not used to this blog thing yet so I don't know what to write...but i'll try again tomorrow
